My weekend in snapshots...
This morning, I woke up with both eyes swollen shut, vicious sunburn, and temporary schizophrenia that left me wondering, "Why is the sun out in the middle of the night?" Yeah, it was that kind of weekend. Here, see the pictures.
Sunday around three o'clock PM: The sun beams down on brackenfish's backyard as he deeply sleeps face-up on a poolchair, his eyelids slightly puffed over his eyes. Thin clouds speckle the aqua sky. Hemlock branches sway with the wind. brackenfish's shirtless body gleams with freshly applied sunscreen from a bottle that sits nearby. The expiration date on the bottle reads "5/02."
Sunday around eight o'clock AM: brackenfish stares blankly at the big screen TV in the family room, a bump between his eyebrows nearing his eyes. The TV throws colored bars on the family room walls and a high-pitched hum into the air. Outside, the sun shines red into the house through the windows. brackenfish's mouth hangs open, saliva running over his chin.
Sunday around seven o'clock AM: A red sun crawls up over the hills in the distance. brackenfish sits in his car in the parking lot of a video rental store, his eyes locked on the emerging red sun. The letters on the front doors of the store read, "____ Video: Open 10 AM to midnight." Wrinkled and sweat-stained, his work uniform hangs off of his shoulders. A bump the size of a quarter bulges from between brackenfish's eyebrows. His employer stands outside his car, finishing the sentence, "Good work on inventory tonight."
Saturday around ten o'clock PM: A bright computer monitor shines in the darkness, giving the walls a grey tint. brackenfish hunches over the computer. A slight breeze comes through the open window, slightly parting brackenfish's hair as he stares at the screen with wide open eyes. On the screen, an instant message reads, "herodiesinthsone: come over man, we're playing beer pong / brackenfish: sorry, i go to work in two hours" A mosquito rests on brackenfish's forehead, its needle plunged into the flesh between his eyebrows.
There's more but I'm about to pass out so I'm going to stumble into the kitchen in search of soda or coffee or speed, whatever pick-me-up I can find.
